Guide Parents to guide their children

 

Parents play a pivotal role in guiding and counselling their children in planning their education and choosing their career.   With intense competition in gaining entry into education programme of choice and career of choice, getting prepared and honing in on the right path at an early age is the key. 

 

COA programmes provide an objective way for your children to reflect on their personal interest, understand their ability and find out their potential career areas.  They help them to make informed choices at different stages in school and develop important skills for life.    

 

Centigrade(suitable for 16-18 year olds prior to applying for university)

Help you decide on Higher Education courses and institutes (currently covering UK, Europe and Canada). 

 

Preview (suitable for 14-16 years prior to choosing AS/AL or equivalent subjects)

A careers guidance programme that helps students look deeper into their career interest, their own personal qualities and abilities to help them plan their further studies.

 

Probe (suitable for 12-15 year old junior secondary school children)

A careers guidance programme that helps students look A web-based programme to introduce younger students to the world of careers.   Help them think about their own interests and consider their selection of GCSEs or equivalent subjects.

 

Cambridge Profile(suitable for 14-18 years old mid to higher secondary school children)

A careers guidance programme that helps students look A battery of 8 timed aptitude tests comprising Verbal*, Numeric, Abstract, 2 and 3D Spatial Reasoning, Spelling, Arithmetic Calculation and Working Quickly & Accurately.  (*available in Chinese and 14 other languages).   Results are norm referenced to other children of similar age group and education background.  Help children think of career and higher education.

 

Interview

A 20-minute handover interviewing service is available as an optional part of either the Preview or Centigrade programmes to help the student understand and make full use of the feedback and start their own research.

MyCareersRoom

This useful online portal allows students to log in and access the feedback from their own Preview workbook. It has links to different career areas enabling the student to investigate, access, bookmark and rate websites of interest.  It links with an online version of The Careers Directory and facilitates note-making so that students can refer back to their findings.
